Prerequisites for Channel Tasks

Access

Anyone on a team with Docket Pro or Business tier can use Docket Channels and tasks.

Availability

You must have a task assigned to a meeting guest in a Docket meeting to associate to a Channel.

How to add a Task to a Channel

To add a task to a Channel, follow these steps:

  1. Add a Channel to a meeting or series > Learn More

  2. Create tasks and assign them in the meeting

  3. As soon as the task(s) are created, they will display automatically in the Task tab of the channels in which they are associated

Viewing Tasks in A Channel

To view tasks in a Channel, follow these steps:

From your Docket navigation menu -

  1. On your Docket navigation menu on the left, click the # symbol

  2. Navigate to the Channel collection in which you wish to view the task(s)

  3. Click the Tasks tab within the Channel and view the tasks associated with the Channel

From your Docket meeting -

  1. From your meeting, either click the Channel in the meeting header or click the Manage Channels button in the meeting header to view more channels and navigate to the desired Channel from there. If the Channel hasn't been added yet, add the desired Channel > Learn More

  2. You will be taken to the Channel where you can click the Tasks tab within the Channel and view the tasks associated with the Channel

Viewing options for tasks in a Channel

When viewing the Tasks tab in a Channel, you can do the following:

Filter Tasks

Using the filter icon above the Due date section, you can filter the task view to show either completed tasks, incomplete tasks, or all tasks.

Sort Tasks

You can click on any of the meeting headers for Assignee, Meeting, or Due and change the sort order of the columns.

Set Dates

If a due date was not set or needs to be changed, anyone with access to the meeting can click on the date option on each task and will be taken to the meeting to change or set the due date.

Complete Tasks

You can click on the check box next to any task to mark a task complete or incomplete, depending on your sort view and status.

Marking a task complete or incomplete will change the view for the person assigned the task in their My Task views, within the meeting they were assigned, and in any other Channel the same task is associated with.

Who can add tasks to channels?

Anyone on a Docket Pro or Business account with access to a meeting with Channels can add tasks in a meeting which associates the task to those channels.

Who can mark tasks as complete or Incomplete in Channels?

Anyone with access to a Channel where tasks are associated can mark a task complete or incomplete within the channel.

Anyone with access to a meeting where tasks are created and possibly associated with a Channel can mark a task complete or incomplete from the meeting and ultimately within any related Channel.

Can a task show in more than one Channel?

It can! When a meeting is associated with more than one Channel, the task will be visible in each related Channel.

Why don't I see a task in a Channel?

Here are several things you can check to ensure a task is associated to a Channel:

  • Does the meeting the task reside in have the Channel associated to it?

  • Does the task have a checkbox and is assigned to someone in the meeting?

  • When viewing the Task tab in the Channel, is your filter set to all tasks to make sure it isn't missed by being either marked complete or incomplete unexpectedly?
