Throughout the course of a meeting there are key points of interest that are recorded to propel the meeting's content forward so that all participants can remain aligned after the meeting has ended. A Docket "decision" and a "takeaway" can be used to highlight and call attention to these essential insights and action items.

How a decision or takeaway is utilized within the context of a meeting is completely up to you and your team. If there is a critical course of action or an interesting theme or idea you want to mark as important, you choose when you want to label it as a Decision or Takeaway.

How to create a Decision or Takeaway

Follow these steps to add a decision or takeaway to a meeting note from the Quick Actions box:

  1. Hover anywhere on a note you would like to designate as a decision or takeaway

  2. Click the grey box with a plus sign in the middle

  3. Select either Mark as Decision or Mark as Takeaway

  4. A gavel icon or a starred bookmark icon will appear to the left of the note

Where do Decisions and Takeaways appear and display?

Decisions and Takeaways appear in a variety of locations related to your meeting. These locations include:

The meeting workspace. Decisions and Takeaways will display to the left of the note to which they are designated. They also display when viewing the meeting history of a recurring meeting.

Tasks. A task can be created and then specifically designated as a Takeaway or Decision. Because a task can be displayed within the Docketboard, a task's corresponding Decision or Takeaway will be displayed alongside the task there too!

Sent Meeting Recaps. When a meeting recap is sent, the meeting's Decisions and Takeaways will be prominently featured at the top of the recap to ensure the greatest amount of attention possible.

The Print-Friendly view view of an agenda or recap. When you open an agenda or recap in the print-friendly view, Decisions and Takeaways will display as they do in the normal Docket meeting workspace.

Evernote. Docket's direct integration with Evernote allows you to export meeting agendas and recaps over to your Evernote notebooks. The Decisions and Takeaways display and maintain the same formatting in Evernote as they do in the Docket meeting workspace.

Dropbox. Docket's direct integration with Dropbox allows you to export meeting agendas and recaps over to your designated Dropbox folder. The Decisions and Takeaways display and maintain the same formatting in DropBox as they do in the Docket meeting workspace.

HubSpot. Docket's direct integration with HubSpot allows you to export meeting agendas and recaps over to your client's HubSpot record. The Decisions and Takeaways display and maintain the same formatting in HubSpot as they do in the Docket meeting workspace.

Salesforce. Docket's direct integration with Salesforce allows you to export meeting agendas and recaps over to your client's event record within Salesforce. The Decisions and Takeaways display in brackets to the left of the meeting note in which they were taken.
