Docket + Zoom Chat Bot Notifications

Add the Zoom bot for Docket so you can:

  • Receive Agendas for Meetings The Zoom chat bot will notify you when a Docket agenda is ready for your review or collaboration so you can proactively prepare for the meeting. It will take you straight to the Docket workspace where you can add topics, prioritize agenda items, and review attachments and resources prior to a meeting. 
  • Review Meeting Recaps The Zoom chat bot will let you know when a Docket meeting recap is ready to view so you can be on the same page with other attendees about decisions and actions from the meeting. Easily jump to the Docket meeting notes and enable you to see the meeting minutes, assigned actions, and additional resources following the end of a meeting.

Docket for Zoom alerts and connects you to your meeting agendas and notes quickly, helping you stay productive, informed, and aligned.

TIP: This integration was intended for Docket to Zoom user direct message. Using this notification tool from Docket to a Zoom channel may work however, is unsupported and not recommended.

This guide will show you how to:

  • Understand the pre-requisites for using this integration.
  • Link your Zoom account to your Docket account. 
  • Select which notifications you wish to receive to your Zoom chat.
  • Send yourself a test notification to your Zoom chat. 
  • Uninstall the Zoom integration for Docket.
  • Troubleshoot issues. 

Pre-Requisites for Using This Integration

This integration assumes you have the following:

  • Zoom Account
  • Docket Account - Follow these instructions to set up a Docket account for your Google or Microsoft account. 
  • You have a Docket meeting agenda or recap that is ready to send to your Zoom. 

Link Zoom to Docket

To begin receiving Docket notifications in Zoom chat, in your Docket settings:

  • Locate the Zoom Chat integration section.
  • Click on the Connect Chat button.
  • Click the button to Authorize Docket.

  • Go to your Zoom chat app. Under Apps in the left navigation panel, you should now see Docketbot.
  • Click on the Docketbot app and type, "notify" and hit return. 

TIP: This integration was intended for Docket to Zoom user direct message. Using this notification tool from Docket to a Zoom channel may work however, is unsupported and not recommended.

  • The Docket app will send a new message telling you to go to a Docket link. 

  • The Docket link will take you back to your Settings page where you can select to receive agenda and/or recap notifications from Docket to your Zoom chat.

Control how you receive notifications for shared agendas and recaps in your Docket Settings

Agenda Updates

Check the agenda updates checkbox if you wish to receive Docket shared agendas notifications via Zoom. 

If this is unchecked, unless you have an alternative notification set up such as email notifications for Docket, you will not receive any Docket shared agenda notifications in Zoom.

Recap Updates

Check the recap updates checkbox if you wish to receive Docket shared recap notifications via Zoom. 

If this is unchecked, unless you have an alternative notification set up such as email notifications for Docket, you will not receive any Docket shared recap notifications in Zoom.

Try This Out

To test out your new integration, follow these steps:

  1. Go to a Docket meeting that has an agenda or recap ready to send.
  2. Click to Share Agenda or Share Recap.
  3. If you only want to send this to you, click any of the other recipient avatars to de-select/remove them from the recipient list.
  4. Click Send.
  5. You should receive a notification from your Zoom chat. Go to your Zoom chat to view the new notification in your Docket app channel.

Troubleshooting

How do I successfully connect my Zoom account to Docket when I get the error, "You cannot install the app because you don't have the required permissions. Please contact your IT administrator for permission and try again."

This typically means your Zoom account is managed by an administrator within your organization. You can ask them to add this integration on your behalf or if they have already, go to your Zoom chat and you should Docket now listed under your Apps section. Proceed to the next step by /notify in the Docket app channel to activate notifications.

Unistall Zoom Integration for Docket

Follow these steps to uninstall Docket app integration with Zoom:

  1. Go to the Zoom App Marketplace page.
  2. Sign into your Zoom account in the upper right corner of the page. If you are already signed in, skip this step.
  3. Click Manage in the upper right corner. 
  4. Click on Installed Apps on the left.
  5. Scroll or search for Docket and click Uninstall.
